I began my bodywork practice in 1991, which included a 2-year apprenticeship under a chiropractor and LMT to obtain certification in massage. I attended Boston Shiatsu School from 1998–2000, where I studied Zen Shiatsu, Sotai and Traditional Chinese Medical Theory. I had a successful practice in the Boston Metro Area from 2000–2007, and in 2001 received my Pilates certification from PoleStar in Pilates Mat and Reformer. I taught Mat Pilates from 2003–2007 at MIT, the Arlington Center and privately. My personal yoga practice has included Bikram, Ashtanga, Mysore, Forrest and Yin yoga. From 2000–2004, I was on staff with a chiropractor group and at an acupuncturist's office, which greatly increased my ability to reduce pain, speed recovery and increase ROM.
Since 2000, my focus has been athletes, performers, dancers and people who live demanding lives. Now pursuing my Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAcOM) with a graduation date of September 2012. As a child, my father, a teacher and black belt in Shodokan Karate, introduced me to martial arts, meditation, energetics and acupressure. My stepmother, registered nurse, introduced me to nutrition and herbal remedies. She saw in the 1970s the ravages of antibiotics over-use and was vigilant in keep us healthy so that antibiotics would be a last resort.
